Responsibilities & Requirements

The staff accountant will be responsible for analyzing financial data, preparing reports, and providing insights to support strategic decision-making. Also, responsible for financial inquires, problem resolution, and other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
1–3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a corporate or public accounting setting.
CPA or CPA candidate status (or plans to pursue certification), preferred.
Solid understanding of basic accounting principles, financial reporting, and accounting software (Blackline, Allscripts, PowerPlay, preferred).
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.) and other Office software.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Understanding of the financial statement close process (monthly, quarterly, and year-end).
Strong analytical and quantitative skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Job Responsibilities:

Assist with the preparation and maintenance of the general ledger.
Ensure accurate and timely recording of transactions, including journal entries and account adjustments.
Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts.
Identify discrepancies and resolve issues in a timely manner.
Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Help prepare reports for management and auditors, ensuring compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.
Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring all financial transactions are recorded and accurate.
Prepare and submit necessary journal entries to close accounting periods.
Assist with preparation of 990 tax filings, and other related documents.
Support adherence to company policies and procedures regarding financial transactions, accounting, and reporting.
Help identify opportunities to improve processes, ensure efficiency, and strengthen internal controls.
Assist auditors by providing requested documentation and responding to inquiries during the annual audit process.
Participate in special projects or perform other duties as assigned by management.
