  • Kettering Health Washington Township, formerly Southview Medical Center, has served the South Dayton, Ohio suburbs including Centerville, Kettering, West Carrollton, Moraine, Miamisburg, Springboro, Bellbrook, and Waynesville for over 40 years.
  • KH Washington Township is a 123 licensed-bed hospital and medical campus that is conveniently located off I-675.  
  • Our full-service hospital includes maternity care, emergency services, hand trauma center, and specialty services located within the adjacent medical offices. 
  • In 2020, KH Washington Township received an “A” from the Leapfrog Group, a national patient safety watchdog, ranking among the safest hospitals in the United States.

Responsibilities & Requirements

Essential Functions

Key Job Responsiblities
Achieve Budget/Financial Responsibilities
• Responsible for accuracy and timeliness of financial data and statistics.
• Controls expenses within area of responsibility.
• Develops and recommends department operating budget and ensures that department operates within budget.
• Evaluates and justifies supplies, equipment and purchases as needed.

Customer Relations
• Addresses and ensures Customer Needs are met.
• Demonstrates good/effective communication skills with customers.

Operational Excellence
• Demonstrates quality leadership in meeting performance plans.
• Acts as a positive role model; proactive in the achievement of the facility goals and objectives.
• Participate and add value to hospital committees, meetings, activities (i.e. Infection Control/Safety Committee)
• Coordinates housekeeping activities with other hospital departments.
• Provides recommendations for replacement of furnishings and wall coverings with OSHA standards in mind.
• Maintains an environment that is in sanitary, attractive and in an orderly condition.
• Understands and develops the Total Quality Management Process; Rounding the facility.
• Demonstrates understanding and compentency in interviewing candidates for openings.
• Demonstrates knowledge of EEO policy.
• Demonstrates and promotes Kettering Health Network culture, values and management philosophy.

People Management
• Coaching management and hourly employees.
• Encourages and nurtures associate creativity and innovation within Kettering Health Network.
• Develop and maintain performance appraisals for staff on a timely and accurate basis.
• Encourage staff to participate in additional training, education, and/or self development.
• Maintains a harassment free environment with good employee morale by demonstrating good employee relations practices and utiliving HR consultation when needed.

Administration
• Keeps administration informed of activities, needs or concerns.
• Maintains records and statistics for administrative and regulatory purposes.
• Establishes and implements policies and procedures for departmental operations.
• Ensures compliance with all regulatory agencies.

Achieve Budget/Financial Responsibilities:
• Conduct regular inventory of housekeeping supplies and order same, keeping costs in line with approved budgetary amounts.

Customer Relations:
• Communicate with members of other departments to coordinate housekeeping activities.
• May serve on facility-wide committees.

Operational Excellence:
• Establish and annually reviews standards and work procedures for all Housekeeping staff in accordance with established policies and practices of the facility.
• Regularly inspect and evaluate physical condition of facility; recommend painting, repairs and furnishings.
• Provide monthly administrative progress reports relative to short term accomplishments, future short term plans and staff education/training.
• Conduct regular staff meetings and communicate with members of other departments to coordinate housekeeping activities. May serve on facility-wide committee.
• Maintain and support facility goals and objectives as they relate to third party patient survey process.
