Job Summary
The Behavioral Health Assessment Team (BHAT) provides behavioral health intervention, evaluation, and support services for patients throughout Kettering Health facilitates, both while in the emergency department and medical floors. This team will provide assessment services to determine each patient’s most appropriate level of care, which includes facilitating linkage and referrals, as well as facilitating the movement/transfer of psychiatric behavioral health patients to psychiatric facilities when deemed medically stable. The BHAT behavioral health team provides coordination of all psychiatric consultation services, substance abuse assessment and linkage to treatment, at each respective hospital site along with providing tele-assessment services system wide. This role includes being part of a multidisciplinary team encompassing physicians, nursing, care coordinators, social workers, families, and community partners.
Preferred Qualifications
Job Requirements
Minimum Education
Master’s degree in social work or counseling from an accredited university
Required Licenses
Ohio, United States LSW, LISW, LPC, LPCC, MFT
Minimum Work Experience
Two years of behavioral health assessment, community-based crisis, or hospital-based (emergency room) behavioral health evaluation preferred.
Knowledge of diagnostic criteria for psychiatric illnesses and substance abuse disorders along with knowledge of community resources.
Experience with electronic medical record preferred.
