Responsibilities & Requirements
The Director of Student Success provides vision, leadership, and direct support for a comprehensive set of student services that drive retention, engagement, and overall student achievement at Kettering College. This position oversees the Student Success team (academic coaching and success initiatives), tutoring and writing support services, the Office of Disability Services, the Testing Center, and serves as the College’s Title IX Coordinator.
The Director is both a strategic leader and hands-on practitioner. They develop and assess student success initiatives, ensure federal and state compliance (Title IX, ADA/Section 504, and the Clery Act), and manage institutional reporting obligations.
In addition, the Director leads the College’s early alert and intervention systems, manages the Contract for Success program, and drives initiatives to strengthen the first-year experience with the goal of improving student retention and progression.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Student Success Leadership
- Provide strategic oversight of the Student Success team, including coaching, tutoring, writing support, and the Testing Center.
- Develop and assess student success initiatives aimed at improving retention, persistence, and student engagement.
Disability Services
- Lead the Office of Disability Services, including overseeing staff and processes while directly conducting student intakes.
- Review and approve accommodation requests and develop individualized accommodation plans.
Title IX & Compliance
- Serve as the College’s Title IX team, ensuring compliance, leading investigations, overseeing responses, and providing training.
- Oversee completion of compliance reports, including the Annual Security Report and Clery Report.
Academic & Campus Partnerships
- Collaborate with Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, Residence Life, Campus Ministries, and other campus partners to promote a holistic student experience.
- Provide training and resources for faculty and staff to support student success and compliance responsibilities.
Continuous Improvement
- Monitor trends and best practices in student success, accommodations, and compliance.
- Lead campus initiatives that enhance accessibility, equity, and student achievement.
Education
Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible experience in higher education.
